Move2Health Equity focuses on increasing health equity in the greater Charlottesville Area.
Our Story
Move2Health Equity is a coalition in the Blue Ridge Health district, also known as Planning District 10 in Virginia. It was created to address childhood obesity. After several years it was decided to broaden the target population. It became the Move2Health Coalition- a partnership with Sentara Martha Jefferson Hospital, Blue Ridge Health District, and the University of Virginia as a way to promote healthy eating and active living for all community members. Throughout the years it has worked on increasing its reach in the community. In 2019, Move2Health started to readjust its focus to fill community need. It rebranded to the Move2Health Equity Coalition to focus on Access to Healthcare, Active Communities, Healthy Food Systems, and Healthy Spaces.
